In our system tasks drive the process of getting HIPAA compliant and staying compliant. There is an initial set of one-time tasks for setting up your privacy and security program. Tasks drive the process of editing templates of policies, procedures, and forms. The edited PPF are then sent to a Helper, trained and supported by Rebecca, for approval. The editing and approval process is documented and they go into the on-line policy and procedure manuals and forms library. As the HHS standards change these are updated and revised as necessary and the new or revised PPF are sent out to all clients to go through the review, edit, approval cycle again.
The Compliance Meter(tm) displays the on-going level of completion of tasks and editing and approval of PPF thus providing both internal visibility of on-going compliance but also by displaying the Compliance Meter(tm) on their website providing external visibility.
The Helper is assigned to individual accounts and through the Compliance Helper interactive software can observe all of the work of their clients, offer advice through either our Notes feature on telephone conference calls, act as their privacy and security expert at a very low cost. The Helpers are trained and supported by Rebecca and can escalate questions to her for advice when necessary. Helpers have supported the same clients for as many as 6 years thus providing continuity and personal support.
